The Evolution
of Cute Creations Design by Christine Molnar
www.cutecreationsdesign.com
Ever since I was
little I have enjoyed sketching on paper and painting, as well as many other
forms of art. I currently have many hobbies. Among these are drawing,
sewing, quilting, crocheting, crafting, scrap booking, gardening, as well as
designing cross stitch, embroidery, craft patterns, and many more. Most of
these tend to parallel my business interests.
I
started drawing using the computer program “Adobe Photoshop” in 2000. My
mother taught me the basics of the program to get me started and I was
hooked. I have evolved considerably, but still owe a lot of my knowledge to
my mother. As the months and years went by, improvements began to show, and
everyone I know suggested I sell my artwork. I thought about it for some
time, and eventually opened up my business,
Cute Creations Design,
in July 2003. I have had so much fun drawing and creating wonderful designs
and graphics for people to use on their crafts, printing projects, web
sites, and even scrap booking.
It
wasn’t easy to start a new business. Choosing the name was one of the
hardest parts. Not only was there a lot of licensing to obtain, but a lot of
research was involved to be sure everything was implemented correctly. But
everything I went through to start my business was well worth the time and
effort. I have met many wonderful friends along the way.
I
decided to get into business not only because of the wonderful encouragement
and support from my family and friends, but because I love what I do. Not
only do I draw using my mouse in Photoshop, but I also digitize my work into
Cross Stitch and Embroidery, as well as design patterns for all kinds of
crafts. I also am a Web Designer which is enjoyable.
I have been asked
several times where I get my ideas for my work. Many of these come from the
nature and animals around me, every day life in my home and my children.
Almost all of my ideas just pop in my head. From there I start sketching
them onto paper and finally they are drawn as the finish product into my
Photoshop program with my mouse where they become graphics, also known as
clipart. Being a Graphic Artist and Designer is a lot of fun and is a great
way to brighten up others’ lives with colorful and cute products.

Treasures to
Behold by Angie Davis

My mom
actually got me started in the candle business 6 years ago. She wanted to
try to make candles and I decided to help her. Mom found a recipe online
that used crayons instead of coloring and tried it. I was hooked and
started investigating this craft to learn all I could.
My business
has come a long way since we first tried that recipe in the kitchen with a
coffee can and an old pail of crayons. Now I offer more than just candles.
I specialize in scented treasures. My techniques have been perfected and my
scented business has grown which makes me very proud.
I love
doing what I do & I love hearing all about my happy customers! You can find
my products online, in different shops & of course at the local craft shows
during the holiday season! I do offer wholesale to qualified buyers.
Angie has
been married for 16 years and lives in the beautiful state of
Ohio.
She lives on a hilltop overlooking a breath-taking scene. She has 3

The Chess Pie
I don’t
remember where I got this recipe but it is one of the few that I can
remember. There is a cute little story that I would like to share with you
about this Chess Pie recipe. As long as I can remember, as an adult, I have
made this pie around the holidays. My younger sister would ask me, every
year at Christmas, how to make this pie. Since I was not usually home at
Christmas, she would call wherever I was on Christmas day and ask me.
Finally, it became a family joke. First thing Christmas morning, wherever I
was, the phone would ring and I was called to the phone. Without even
saying hello, I started…….. 1 cup melted butter, 2 cups sugar……. All around
me and through the phone, you could hear the laughter. So, I share with you
this memory and recipe.
2 cups
sugar
2 tablespoon
all purpose flour (cornstarch also works well)
Mix
thoroughly in a bowl.
DO NOT USE A
MIXER. Do all this by hand with either a whisk or spoon.
Add the
following, in this order. Mix after each item.
1 cup melted
butter (real butter is best, margarine will do)
5 eggs (one
egg at a time) mix thoroughly after each egg.
1 tsp of
vanilla.
Pour into
pie shell and cook at 350 degrees until firm.
