Crafting as a Family by Sylvia

My name is Sylvia and I am the owner of two websites "Angel Wishin & Country Pickins" and "Country Pickins & Fixins".  We are a family owned, home-based business in Sugar Land, Texas, and we lovvvvvvve crafting!

I learned various hand crafts at a very young age.  My very
creative and talented mother knew how to sew, knit, crochet,
embroider, needlepoint, wood crafts, wreaths, candles and
potpourri which she in turn got me well trained to do the same.

My love for making rag dolls and their cute little outfits grew
and expanded over the years into a primitive and country business to offer dolls, patterns, wood crafts, candles and potpourri.

So now my husband, my two daughters and I spend much of our time working on new designs for our wood & doll crafts as well continuously developing new fragrance combinations for our rose hips, potpourri and candles.  We have expanded our hand crafts so much that we even opened up another website, "Country Pickins & Fixins", which is a totally crafting site that differs from our "Angel Wishin & Country Pickins" site where were offer all of our finished handcrafted products.

We are always seeking new trends in the crafting industry in order to offer our customers a wonderful variety of products outside of our handcrafted items as well.  We also accept custom orders in order to offer a well rounded business catering to the primitive & country market.
We invite everyone to come and visit our online shops and even
enter our monthly drawings during your visit!

Happenings in My Little World

Barbie now has some new clothes to wear!  Yes, that’s right!  I got an urge several weeks ago to try my hand at making Barbie doll gowns.  Be sure to check out the styles in my store.  There will be more available as time permits.  Also, I will be adding more pictures of chimes to my Chimes department.  The chimes are made from small terra cotta pottery and hand painted.  I have several done and just waiting on getting their pictures made.   There are two baskets filled with goodies which are also waiting on pictures.  As soon as I can get some decent pictures I will put them on the site.

I spent the last week rearranging my craft room so things will be more accessible.  Amazing how much stuff can accumulate in one small place.  Of course, it also amazes me how much of a mess I can make, and that was BEFORE I cleaned.  Lol.  Since the craft room is clean, there will be more creative products coming out in the next month.  I am thinking Teddy Bears, perhaps????

I am going to make time to try a new weaving project some time this month.  I will include the address for pictures on my site in next month’s issue for those who wish to go see the how that project goes. lol

For those in the Tyler Texas area, be sure and check out the neat Tyler doll show (http://tylerdollshow.com/ ) that is happening next weekend.  I am hoping I get a chance to go.  I checked out their site and loved all the pictures from the last one.  They list the companies that will be there this year, most with complete websites and email addresses.   Also, in that same area, Able Oak Alpaca Ranch, near Rusk, will have an open house on July 23.  Be sure to check out their website at http://www.ableoaks.com/events.html.   Look under Events for directions.

That’s all for now.  Hope everyone has a great 4th of July and be sure to celebrate our FREEDOM.
